NEW FEATURE – Bath Rugby League Heritage Numbers – 1. Ruben Moxham

We aim to feature every player who has played a competitive game for the club since we formed in 2017. We started with an opening day West of England League home win against Bristol Sonics in May 2017 at Chippenham Rugby Club.

Ruben takes the number one spot as he wore the (Number 1 shirt) full back jersey in the inaugural competitive game. Ruben attended Beechen Cliff School and was with Bath Rugby Academy. More recently Ruben has been playing for Ealing Trailfinders 1871 Rugby Club while continuing his university studies in the London area. He made his debut as a 16 year old, in Rugby League you can play senior Rugby after your 16th birthday.

Ruben commented about his time with Bath Rugby League:

“When Chris approached me to represent Bath Rugby League in the inaugural Season I was excited, mainly to try something new in my off season. As well as joining with good mates Max Ojomoh and Gabe Hamer Webb, I made some good mates in the short time I was there.I played their first 2 games at fullback, I gained some valuable defensive lessons that I took with me into my union career. Bath Rugby League really allow everyone to shine on the field. Gaining man of the match in their inaugural game was my biggest highlight. But in a close second was winning our first away game with the last kick of the game. Having the heritage no.1 is really special for me and something that I will remember for the rest of my life. I would love to pull on the no.1 jersey again for Bath Rugby League one day in the future.”
