Henners joined the club in the week leading upto the first game, he looked like a strong solid unit that could do well at Rugby League having previously been playing Rugby Union locally for Trowbridge Rugby Football Club. It wasn’t long before he made friends at the club, and appeared to particularly enjoy the games he played in the forwards with Rob Fox. He enjoys driving the ball in and makes some good yards. A sociable member of the group it wasn’t long before he represented the West of England and also gained rep honours while at university playing for the South West and South of England University Rugby League rep squad. He has more recently played union locally at Colerne Rugby Club.
We think he could be a lookalike for Warrington Wolves and Great Britain Rugby League forward Joe Philbin, what do you think?
Henners commented about his time with Bath Rugby League:
“I was approached by Chris (Chatten) and some of the players at Bath Rugby league most notably Big Jay (Patterson).
They informed me about league as I never given it a thought until Bath gave me the opportunity. It was so quick how I fell in love with the sport with such a welcoming feel at the club I felt at home & my love for the game instantly started, I enjoyed the hard running the big hits the fast pace and with a club as helpful and encouraging as Bath I made some great mates for life, shout out my old captain Plancey (Tom Plance)! It was a great place to start my Rugby league career. Thank you all “
